Dear Faculty and Staff,
Last week 150 SCC students celebrated the annual MLK Day of Service on Monday, January 20th by collecting food for a nine-store food drive around Shoreline. We collected in total 8,439 pounds of food for Hopelink, North Helpline, and Greenwood food banks! The top-collecting store, led by Faustin Saputra and Evangeline Munson was QFC Northgate at 11100 Roosevelt Way- collecting 1, 732 pounds of food for North Helpline! The final results can be found on the website!
To celebrate their efforts I will be planning a celebration lunch in the month of February to award prizes, certificates, and share good food and conversation with participants. Thank you for your collective support of this event- it was a great success!
