Good afternoon!
I have the pleasure as Chair of the Faculty Senate of announcing two recent ascensions (nice word, no?) to the rank of Professor Emeritus. On October 23, the Faculty Senate Council voted unanimously to grant the rank to Professor Betsey Barnett upon her retirement in December 2013. On January 8th, the council voted unanimously to grant the rank to Professor Bruce Amstutz upon his upcoming retirement at the end of this quarter.
According to Policy 4722 Professor Emeritus status entitles the recipient to, amongst other privileges, the use of a shared office; full faculty privileges in the use of the library, gymnasium and other campus facilities; the use of a campus mailbox and e-mail address; and faculty parking privileges.
Congratulations to our two newest Professors Emeriti!
