Finding Mr. Right to screen on campus twice

There are two screenings of a Chinese film entitled “Beijing Meets Seattle” or “Finding Mr. Right” scheduled in the SCC theater for April 16. The film runs for 2 hours and there will be a 45 minute discussion to follow.  I’m told that while the film is rather mainstream in broad themes, it also addresses some controversial issues in today’s China, and those will be part of the discussion that follows.  While I’ve not yet seen the film, I’m told this is an opportunity to see elements of American culture & Seattle through the eyes of a segment of our student population.  The film has English and Mandarin with the Mandarin sections being subtitled in English (not Dubbed).

I’ll be at the noon showing, and I hope that you and your students will attend.
