Celebrate the end of the quarter and the year with some great music by the SCC choirs this Friday night, June 6, at Calvin Presbyterian Church at 7:30 p.m. The Chamber Chorale and Shoreline Singers present “Landscapes of the Heart: Exploring the Intersections of Nature, Geography, and Emotion” … a fancy title to describe songs that express our deep connection to place and the land. Everything from Palestrina to Mozart to Schumann, to contemporary composers Morten Lauridsen (poetry by Rilke) and Eric William Barnum (poetry by Millay), to folk songs from Scotland and Canada, to a classic from the Beatles’ “Abbey Road”!
It’s a real deal for SCC employees (only 5 bucks) and it’s all for a good cause, as the concert is sponsored by the SCC Foundation and all proceeds go to the Foundation’s Michael Mitchell Vocal Scholarship Fund which aids our talented student vocal musicians in time of special financial need.
Tickets at the door:
- General admission – $7
- Seniors / SCC employees – $5
- Students – $3
- 12 and under – free
