The Week ahead

Here’s a look at some of the things happening on and around campus this week!

As well as the events listed below, the Student Leadership Center will be hosting Welcome Week with workshops, lunches, activities, tours and other great events from Tuesday through Friday this week. Make sure to check out the Welcome Week page for more detailed information!

Monday, September 22:

There will be a little bit of construction noises happening near the library as bricks will be engraved. Make sure to check out the new inscriptions!

The SCCFT breakfast will be held in the quiet dining room at 8 a.m. Cost is $5 per person, but free of charge for new faculty.

New Faculty Orientation in 1102 at 10 a.m. or 4 p.m.

Crossing Borders film will be shown in room 1104  at 10:30 a.m. The film explores intercultural communication, social and economic inequality, religious differences and more.

There will be a canvas orientation for students at 10:30 a.m. in room 1302.

Grading & Academic Integrity Policy Information Session in room 1101 at 11 a.m.

All Hazards training with Robin Blacksmith in the quiet dining room at 11:30 a.m.

Student Services all division meeting in room 2926 at 1 p.m.

Come celebrate our eight outstanding Quality Matters faculty in room 1104 at 1:30 p.m.

Visit the 50th Anniversary Museum Opening in the PUB Fishbowl at 4 p.m.

Tuesday, September, 23:

Student orientation will be happening in the main dining room and throughout campus with workshops, a resource fair, tours and a back to school BBQ.

Roundtable discussion on successful online students in room 1104 at 10 a.m.

All-Campus Lunch in the PUB Main Dining Room at 11:30 a.m.

The all faculty senate meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the PUB quiet dining room.

Wednesday, September 24:

First day of class!! Woohoo! It’s the best day of the year.

There will be lunch and music in the courtyard by the PUB at 12:30. Music by student band “The Naked Gypsies”

We will have an Open Lab session on Canvas and Panopto from 1:15-2:15 p.m. in 1305.  Bring your ideas and questions and we will help you make them happen.

Pep rally in the SLC at 6 p.m. followed by the Volleyball teams game against Edmonds! #GoPhins

Thursday, September 25:

Food trucks and ice cream in the courtyard at noon!

There will be a workshop for students about the office of special services at 1:30 p.m. in room 9208. Following that, there will be a workshop for the Center for Equity and Engagement at 2:30 p.m.

Friday, September 26:

There will be a workshop on Study Abroad programs at 1:30 p.m. in room 9208.

Join us as we celebrate Shoreline’s 50th Anniversary in the courtyard near the PUB and the rock river near the theater at 6 p.m.

Volleyball travels to Skagit for a 7 p.m. match. #GoPhins
