It may be only a test, but are you ready for The Great Washington Shake Out?
At 10:16 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 16, the Shoreline Community College Public Information Office will send out a test message using the college emergency notification system, Rave Alert. The test is part The Great Washington Shakeout, the state’s part of a national campaign to promote public safety awareness in the event of an earthquake.
The test message on Thursday will be sent by e-mail, voicemail and text message as well as posts on Twitter, Facebook and an RSS feed. All college employees and students can check their emergency message preferences to make sure they receive the test message and any future emergency messages.
In sending this test message, Shoreline Community College will join more than 760,000 participants statewide for this earthquake-safety awareness campaign.
