The week ahead

Here is a quick look at some of the things happening on and around campus this week!

Monday, Oct. 20:

Free Writing Workshop! Whether it’s for your pre-college course or your last college course, this workshop will help you write an award-winning thesis statement. Room 1501 at 11:30 a.m.

The Queer Film Festival continues with a screening of Tales of the Waria: Indonesian Transgender Love Stories at 12:30 p.m. in room 9208.

Student Parliament meets in the boardroom at 3 p.m.

The Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting with the Shoreline City Council at 5:45 p.m. at Shoreline City Hall.

Tuesday, Oct. 21:

Last day to add a class!

Club fair from 11:30-1:30 in the PUB main dining room. Find out all about Shoreline’s clubs and organizations on campus!

All-Hazards training at 9 a.m. in room 9208.

Wednesday, Oct. 22:

Free writing workshop on explaining more and going deeper in room 1501 at 12:30 p.m.

Men’s and Women’s soccer at Twin Ponds Park against Whatcom Community College. Women’s game starts at 12:30 and men’s at 2:45 p.m. #GoPhins

Volleyball takes on Edmonds at home at 7 p.m. #GoPhins

Thursday, Oct. 23:

In recognition of Disability Employment and History Month, the ADA Committee is presenting the movie Temple Grandin followed by discussion at 12:30 in room 9201. Temple Grandin is a person with autism  who developed a humane way to handle cattle and is now a professor at Colorado State College and a writer and speaker on autism.

Free writing workshop on how to proofread for clear and correct writing in room 1501 at 1:45 p.m.

The Global Affairs Center will be hosting a discussion on new technologies in brain research and therapies in the PUB quiet dining room (9208) at 7 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 24:

Free Workshop! Improve your ability to identify and use the different parts of a sentence in room 1501 at 1@:30 p.m. (For intermediate and advanced ESL students and others wanting a basic review of English grammar.)

Join us for Panopto 101 in room 1401 at 2 p.m.  A basic introduction to using our new lecture capture program.  We will be in a computer lab so you can practice your new skills!

Come spend some time with our wonderful Music and Music Technology faculty members for anecdotes, pointers and Q&A in room 818 at 12:30 p.m.

World Dance party in the PUB main dining room at 6:30 p.m.

Volleyball travels to Skagit for a 7 p.m. match. #GoPhins!
