Do you know what one of the first online courses at SCC was?

Shoreline Community College is celebrating National Distance Learning Week (NDLW) and today we are looking back to the roots of online learning at the college.   Do you know what one of the first online courses at SCC was?  Professor Doug Reid’s Music Fundamentals course.  Reid developed it as his Master’s thesis in 1998! The course was the first in the state to incorporate embedded sound files.  The Music Department continues to innovate with eLearning courses to this day.  In fact, Professor Bruce Spitz won a statewide Leadership and Innovation in eLearning Award last year for his online Music Technology courses on Pop and Commercial Music Theory.
