The week ahead

Here is a look at some of the things happening on and around campus this week:

Monday, Nov. 17:

Current student registration begins for winter quarter! Check the schedule to see when you can register.

The Queer Film Festival continues with a screening of Pariah at 12:30 p.m. in room 9208.

Planning on transferring to the University of Washington? Join Joyce Fagel for a transfer admission and planning information session at 1 p.m. in room 1101.

Student Parliament meets in the boardroom at 3 p.m. Make sure to join in on your student government!

A combined sale of student art, including ceramics, photographs, and fine art from three clubs: The Clay Club, The Art Club, and F-stop photography club.  There is a “silent auction” preview show from Nov. 17-19 in the building lobby.  Followed by a two-day sale.  The hours are 10-4 on Thursday, Nov. 20; and 9-2 on Friday Nov. 21.

Tuesday, Nov. 18:

International Education Week events start on campus! Join us as we celebrate international education and exchange! The full schedule of events can be found on the international education department webpage.

A free lecture style session that covers job search strategies for the local aerospace industry.  Learn how to access over 300 employers and tips for submitting your application to Boeing. Seating is limited so pre-registration is REQUIRED for the event that takes place at 1:30 p.m. Contact Stephanie Tschanz at 206-546-7842 or stschanz@esd.wa.gov to reserve your spot.

Wednesday, Nov. 19:

Getting stuck while writing that college admissions essay? Stop by room 1501 at 3 p.m. to get some help! (Not for students wanting feedback on already written essays!)

Thursday, Nov. 20:

Come and join us for stunning performance of SCC students at the Talent Show in the main dining room at 11:30 a.m.

The Global Affairs Center is hosting a discussion called “Coping with Conflict, Reports from the Palestinian Territories and Southeast Asia” with professors Susan Barclay and Tim Payne from Shoreline. Starts at 12:30 in the PUB room 9208.

Friday, Nov. 21:

Dr. Eric Hamako will present a discussion on “Harry Potter and the Mistaken Myth of the Mixed Race Messiah” at 11:30 in the PUB quiet dining room.

The ASA Executive Committee invites you to a night of stunning lights, great music and most importantly, ice skating on Nov. 21 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Highland Ice Arena.
