BREATHE

breatheFinal exams are almost here. Now is a good time to remind everyone to take a minute and BREATHE (Breathe, Relax, Energize, Art, Treats, Helpful Hints, Exercise). Events for staff and students will be all over campus on Thursday, Dec. 4.

This event is designed to help your students perform at their highest capacity during finals.  Students have reported that this event was helpful with relieving stress, connecting with other students, and enhancing performance on their finals. Below is the message that students have received.

Fall 2014 Pre Final Exam Break: Student Affairs –(Counseling Services, Student Leadership, Student Parliament, Arts & Entertainment, PE/Intramurals, Veterans Resource Center, Office of Special Services, Women’s Center) and the Writing and Learning Studio are sponsoring a pre-final exam stress relief break for all students.

BREATHE (Breathe, Relax, Energize, Art, Treats, Helpful Hints, Exercise) will occur before final exams and include fun activities, relaxation techniques and educational materials to help students manage and reduce their stress, and to improve their opportunity for success.  December 4 will consist of a full-day of activities for all students.  Faculty and staff are also welcome to participate.  We will provide free popcorn, cocoa and other snacks. Students are encouraged to take a break, and BREATHE. It’s a known secret that reducing stress supports students’ success and helps them perform at their highest level. Activities will occur from 9 – 4 p.m.

Please share this message with students.  It would be helpful if you would post this announcement on Canvas and/or share this event in your classes.  We have included a schedule below, attached as a word document and as a photo.
