The shipment of 650 ORCA transit cards has arrived from Metro Transit!
Normally, the cards that are available for purchase by students and subsidized by the Sustainable Commuter Option Fee would’ve gone on sale Dec. 31 at the Cashier’s Office in the 5000 Building (FOSS). Because of the unanticipated delay in the cards arriving on campus, Cashier’s Office personnel instead put the names and contact information of students wanting cards on a waiting list.
Students who reserved a card by signing up on the waitlist are being contacted and have until 4:30 p.m., Thursday, January 8, to pick up their reserved ORCA card at the Cashier’s Office. After that time, the reservation will be cancelled and the card will be made available for other students to acquire.
For students not on the waiting list, there are still 90 ORCA cards that were unreserved and now available for purchase at the Cashier’s Office. Also, any ORCA cards that were reserved but not picked up will be available for sale at the Cashier’s Office on Friday morning.
When picking up a card, students should bring Shoreline student ID and a copy of their class schedule to the Cashier’s Office.
After the 650 ORCA cards are all given out, the Student Leadership Center will make available a limited number of free-ride passes at no charge. To get a free-ride pass, students should bring student ID and class schedule to the Student Leadership Center, Room 9301 in the PUB (9000 building). Free-ride passes will be available until they are gone.
