President Cheryl Roberts sent the following message via e-mail to all employees:
I’m inviting you to join me and others from our campus community from 12:30-1:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 23, for an update on a number of important projects and issues that will need awareness and engagement from all of us.
We will squeeze a lot into an hour, including items that touch on the four areas of focus outlined by our Board of Trustees this past fall:
• Increasing Enrollment, Retention and Completion
• Leveraging Community Engagement
• Developing Human Resources and Physical/Technical Infrastructure
• Strategic Planning
We’ll talk about our response to recent incidents of intolerance and hate aimed at several student groups. And, we’ll touch on some pending work that you’ll begin to see around campus intended to make for a more comfortable and welcoming environment for students.
I’ll also speak briefly about what we might expect out of Olympia and our approach to our legislators.
As we have in the past, we’re planning to live-stream video of the event on our website. The video will also be immediately archived and available for viewing at the same address.
However, if you are available to attend, I would love to see you there.
Gratefully,
Cheryl
