Rezina Habtemariam is serving as Acting Director of Student Life.
Habtemariam is stepping in for Rae-Ann Barras, who in January had to unexpectedly leave the college due to a personal issue.
Habtemariam is well-familiar with a broad spectrum of student-life opportunities. She is a 2009 Shoreline graduate and then transferred to Seattle University. As a student at Shoreline, Habtemariam worked in The Ebbtide newspaper, was president of the Black Student Union and participated in several study-abroad trips.
Habtemariam worked with International Education before moving to the Student Leadership Center (SLC) in 2013. In addition to her current position, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Cultural Studies at the University of Washington.
Dean of Students Kim Thompson said Habtemariam will continue as acting director through June 2015 while SLC staffing needs are reviewed.

The campus community will miss Rae-Ann and her open enthusiasm.
