Jerry Baker, one of Shoreline’s Business Faculty, passed away on Sat., August 15. Baker had taught at Shoreline since September 1998 in the Supply Chain Management program, and he was instrumental in building the program and recently achieved Quality Matters certification for all of his online courses (the entire program is taught online).
Baker joined the faculty at Shoreline Community College after a long career in Supply Management. His most recent position prior to joining us was as the Executive Vice President of the Institute for Supply Management (the professional society for individuals in supply management). He loved teaching here, and he often told Cathy Otto that he was teaching to “give back to his profession.” We are particularly fortunate to have had Jerry share his passion for his profession, for student development and for excellence. We are grateful that he chose Shoreline Community College to share his expertise.
