Departmental Open Houses Schedule for Fri., Sept. 18

The Opening Week festivities continue with open houses Fri., Sept. 18. This is the perfect opportunity to get out and about around campus and get to know your colleagues and what they’re up to by visiting their departments. Pro tip: A lot of departments offer snacks at their open houses, so make sure you go hungry. And don’t forget to tweet your experience mingling with your awesome colleagues with #OW15.

(Editorial Note by Public Information Office member: if Patricia Wade has made any dessert, YOU WON”T WANT TO MISS THIS.)

Library, 4000 building from 1-4 p.m.
The 4000 Building looks the same from the outside, but all kinds of changes are underway behind the brick walls. During the summer break, we welcomed the Math Learning Center and The Writing & Learning Studio into an on-site mix of academic service centers that includes TSS and Tutoring. The expansion of services in the Library means our space has been thoughtfully reconfigured to meet student needs in the coming quarter. Services from copy machines and photo ID to circulation and media have been relocated. Please stop by the Library to find out who’s here, where we are, what we’re doing, and whether you can spot the two new interior doors!

Nursing Program, Nursing Skills Laboratory in the 2300 Building from 1-4 p.m.
Nursing Faculty will be available to demonstrate how we use our mannequins to teach nursing skills.

Office of Advancement, Rooms 1005 and 1009 from 1-4 p.m.
Come meet the staff of the Shoreline Community College Foundation and the Public Information Office. Enjoy some friendly chit chat and learn how these offices can help support both students and fellow employees. Also join us in welcoming the new Vice President for Advancement/Executive Director of the Foundation, Mary Brueggeman!

Services for Students with Disabilities, Room 5226 from 1-3 p.m.
