Shoreline Community College employees are receiving the pay increases approved by the state Legislature.
The state budget approved in June by lawmakers included 3 percent raises for all employees in the community and technical college system. It was then up to the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges and the colleges themselves to work out the details of implementing the pay increases for each employee category.
At Shoreline, classified employees have already received their increases as the details for classified employees were worked out at the statewide level.
Administrative-exempt employees are scheduled to start seeing the increase with the Oct. 10, 2015 payroll. College officials applied an approach similar to the classified increase for administrative-exempt staff members, who are not in a union at Shoreline.
Faculty members will also have pay increases available; although just how the funds will be distributed will be part of discussions with faculty union officials.
While the increases have been applied or will be applied at varied dates, they have or will include back pay to July 1, the effective date of pay raises as intended by the Legislature.
