Law Enforcement Training Seminar on Campus Aug. 28th – 30th

Next week, Monday, August 28th – Wednesday, August 30th, local law enforcement will be conducting a training seminar in Buildings 1500 and 1600. Part of the training will involve Taser firings (similar to the sound of a nail gun) and yelled verbal commands. Signage will be posted around Building 1500 and 1600 to ensure public knowledge of the training in progress. The Taser firings and verbal commands will only be conducted in the Theater, Theater Lobby, and Room 1504 and should have no impact on other campus operations. The police presence on campus will be minimal as the seminar training instructors are law enforcement but the participants are employees of the Taser manufacturer. The seminar is to help the employees better understand the training and real-world applications of the Taser to help increase the effectiveness of the less-lethal tool.
