Good morning everyone,
Just a reminder that Opening Week festivities begin today Thursday September 21, 2023, at 9:00am. As per Veronica’s e-mail last week, attendance is mandatory tomorrow morning, and the event can be attended either in person or online. Come join us for snacks, coffee, and spend some quality time with your colleagues.
All-College sessions are being planned in two modes, in-person or online. Concurrent sessions, division and department meetings will be concurrent in-person and online. We highly encourage you to attend in-person when possible. We are working on some fun ways to connect, and will be providing additional snacks, and other incentives that will only be available in-person.

Opening Week Highlights
Delicious Food!
You didn’t think we’d let you go hungry, did you? 😉 Boxed lunches will be provided on campus tomorrow from 12:00-1:00pm in the Main Lobby of the PUB.
But wait, that’s not all! We have slightly altered the food truck schedule this week and now food trucks will be available on Friday 9/22 for you to purchase lunch between 11:00am-2:00pm. On the schedule are Alaska Dumplings and Levantine Cuisine.
Next week the food truck schedule will resume as normal.
Professional Development Day
Friday 9/22 is Professional Development Day here at Shoreline. Faculty Union, Senate Sessions, and Staff and Admin Training Sessions will be offered in the morning, with more professional development and trainings on offer in the afternoon. For a more in-depth schedule click here.
Annual Required Trainings
As part of Opening Week, we will also be offering opportunities to take part in several trainings employees are required to take annually. There will be both online and in-person version of:
- Recurrent and Substantive Interactions (RSI) for all Faculty who teach online courses
- Title IX for all employees
- FERPA for all employees
- Anti-Racism for all employees
- Anti-Hazing- For All Employees
