Campus Updates 4/26/25

Events and News

Hello all—wow what a week!

The accreditation visit went extremely well. Thank you to all who attended the “exit” presentation late Friday afternoon. The excitement in the room was palpable as the accreditation team shared their comments. The team commented on nearly every aspect of the College- from the report itself, our beautiful grounds, the hard work faculty and staff have put in to focus on data and learning outcomes, our awesome deans—really seeing how this work involves all of us to move forward and continue to shift our focus to planning, use of data and outcomes.

Consider this one of many thank yous from me. Everyone really took this to the next level!

Next Steps:

  1. They have sent Dr. Ann and me a draft report to allow us to comment on any factual errors
  1. We will get an official report from them (with corrections if appropriate) within a month
  1. They will send a confidential recommendation to the commission about our accreditation status
  1. The commission meets in late June and votes on our status
  1. We hear within one month of that meeting

So exciting.

Another exciting update: Due to the great teamwork of Dr. Lucas Rucks, Derek Levy, David Berner, Chippi Bello and the enrollment services team, Shoreline Community College is now a preferred partner and Amazon will market their Pathways Program (Clean Energy) and the Career Choice program (all our programs) in their employee dashboard.

Finally, just to let you know it is that time of the year when ET is going through innovation grant requests, budget adjustment requests, and staff prioritizations to help prepare for next year’s budget. I will keep you posted and of course share the results when complete. Thanks to all of you who have contributed ideas and suggestions. As was the case last year, we are limited in resources and will only be able to work within the parameters of those resources but will do so within the guidelines suggested by the Strategic Planning Budget Council and with the new Strategic Plan in mind.

Happy Passover to those who celebrate!

Cheers,

Jack
