Hello all – hope you have been having a good week. Busy week here with no standouts worth mentioning. I did want to thank everyone who joined the State of the Budget meeting yesterday. I really appreciated everyone’s candor and good ideas. We will send out an official thank you email with any updates we may have in the next day or two.
Cheers,
Jack

Communication and Marketing
Don’t forget to cast your vote to name the college! Over the past few months, we’ve discussed the possibility of changing our name from Shoreline Community College to Shoreline College. As part of our ongoing conversations, we’re asking for your input.
We’ve put together a brief survey that outlines some of the key reasons people support or oppose the change. We hope you’ll take a few minutes to review these perspectives and share your thoughts.
Click here to view the survey and cast your vote.
Please submit your response by 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
Guided Pathways:
The Guided Pathways team is happy to announce that Shoreline will be participating in the Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE), a national survey of institutional practices and student behaviors. CCSSE is an initiative of CCCSE at The University of Texas at Austin. CCSSE results will help us better understand our students’ college experiences. Shoreline last participated in the CCSSE in 2017, so this is a chance to re-establish valuable data about our students’ experiences at our college.
CCSSE will be administered in a random sample of classes at Shoreline near the middle of Spring term. Instructors whose classes are sampled will receive specific information via email from the Guided Pathways team. Please be on the lookout for this information. The CCSSE will take approximately 30 minutes of class time to complete. We know that all instructional time is incredibly valuable, and we ask that you support Shoreline’s efforts to enhance our data-driven institutional decision-making processes by contributing your class time to this important survey.
Additional information will be shared through all divisional Canvas sites, including materials for instructors to share with students to prepare them to participate in the CCSSE survey.
Foundation:
Scholarship reading has begun, but we still need scholarship readers! Email Kara (khaney@shoreline.edu) if you can help out. Reviewing will close on May 11, and we will be awarding scholarships the following week.
