Campus Updates 11/20/2025

Hey folks,

It has been a pretty packed week.  Mostly typical work and meetings, but I was able to get out of the office a bit.

Did you know it was International Education week?  Happy International Education Week! I attended one of our favorite rituals – enjoying teas and coffees from around the world prepared and served by our students! This year we were fortunate to be join by the president of Western Washington University, Dr Sabah Randhawa!  Ironically one of the students attending said her dream school was WWU, and she got a business card from Dr Randhawa – how cool is that?

And hey, wow – the Fish War event last Friday was completely packed! Thank you to all who came out to learn more about the history of indigenous people of Washington State. I learned so much.  A special thanks to Melinda at The Meaningful Movies Project, Stephanie James with the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe Canoe Family, The Puyallup Tribe of Indians, and panelists Ramona Bennet, Rodney Sisson, & Ed Johnstone.

I was also able to attend the Pamela SeaMonster (vice chair of the Snohomish Tribe of Indians) storytelling event to tell the story of yəhaw̓ with our community. It was really interesting and beautiful. Thanks to all who joined and to the division for arranging!

Cheers,

Jack

Human Resources

Vector Update –

A new Vector training launch went out on 11/14. All employees should have received an email titled “Vector Training Update – New Version Launch” just before 2 pm on Friday.

Some of the trainings were updated to new versions, which means we need to manually apply carryover credit for previously completed courses. This process can take a few days. If you do not see your credit reflected by 11/21, please email HR@shoreline.edu and include your supervisor. We’ll review the attendance records and update your status.

Also, the February 1 audit is simply a checkpoint to help us identify anyone who may be having trouble accessing the system or needs extra support. It is not a completion deadline.

More info and Vector updates coming – but, as always, if you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out to hr@shoreline.edu

HR Joins Shoreline Support Ticketing System!

We are pleased to announce that the Human Resources (HR) department will soon be added to the Shoreline Support ticketing system!

Similar to other departments across campus, HR will now utilize a variety of online forms to streamline requests, improve response times, and enhance the overall employee experience. This integration provides a centralized and transparent process for handling HR related inquiries, ensuring that your requests are tracked and resolved efficiently.

What does this mean for you?

·         You will be able to submit HR requests for assistance directly through the support site. You can also still email hr@shoreline.edu for help, which will generate a ticket in the HR application.

·         Each request will have a ticket number, status updates, and clear communication, reducing the need for follow-up emails.

·         The system helps HR collaborate with other departments when needed, making cross-functional processes smoother.

How to Access HR Support:

Once launch is complete, you will navigate to the Shoreline support site at https://support.shoreline.edu and go to the Human Resources section under Services for Shoreline Employees.  There you’ll find forms for common HR services and inquiries.

Thank you for helping us make campus services more efficient and user-friendly! If you have questions about this upcoming process, please contact the HR team at hr@shoreline.edu
