Campus Updates 12/8/2025

Hey folks,

Just a brief message today as I spent most of last week preparing for the December 1st Community Check-In and the December 3rd Board of Trustees meeting. However, I was able to meet with representatives from Western Governors University (WGU) to discuss strengthening our partnership and providing opportunities for Shoreline employees, and I also attended the chat with 32nd Legislative District Representative Cindy Ryu on December 2nd.

Cheers,

Jack

Communication and Marketing

Don’t forget to cast your vote for our new college logo!

Now that we’ve changed our name to Shoreline College, we need a new logo. We’ve created three designs, and we need your help choosing a winner.

Please take a moment to complete a short survey (it takes just a couple of minutes) and vote for the logo you feel best represents Shoreline’s future.

Click here to cast your vote.

Voting will remain open until December 17, 2025, and we’ll reveal the winning design early in the new year.

We want as much campus and community input as possible, so please share this survey throughout your network!

Calling All Alumni!

If you’re a faculty member or staff member who also graduated from Shoreline, we invite you to join the Alumni Network. It’s an easy way to stay connected with campus, receive updates, and help shape how we engage our alumni community.

The Alumni Network Steering Committee recently finalized its charter and is moving forward with new initiatives. We welcome your perspective and participation.

Join the Alumni Network today – click here!

The annual scholarship application will be open January 5-March 29. Students only need to submit one application in AwardSpring and they will be considered for every scholarship they’re eligible for. An email will go out to students in January, but please take the time to share this information with any students you work with.

If you’re interested in volunteering some time to read scholarship applications in April, please let Kara know at khaney@shoreline.edu

Human Resources

  • Vector (Online Training Platform)

You can checkout whether you are in compliance for required trainings by viewing your Dashboard on Vector.  Click HERE for the website. Remember: Your username is your shoreline.edu email.

Below is the completions for the past 30 days noting that the spike is when the newest Vector Launch occurred. We have 473 courses were completed so far, and 10 courses were completed so far today. Looking good!

  • HR Joins Shoreline Support Ticketing System!

We are pleased to announce that the Human Resources (HR) department will soon be added to the Shoreline Support ticketing system!

Similar to other departments across campus, HR will now utilize a variety of online forms to streamline requests, improve response times, and enhance the overall employee experience. This integration provides a centralized and transparent process for handling HR related inquiries, ensuring that your requests are tracked and resolved efficiently.

What does this mean for you?

  • You will be able to submit HR requests for assistance directly through the support site. You can also still email hr@shoreline.edu for help, which will generate a ticket in the HR application.
  • Each request will have a ticket number, status updates, and clear communication, reducing the need for follow-up emails.
  • The system helps HR collaborate with other departments when needed, making cross-functional processes smoother.

Stay tuned for a launch date coming soon!
