Business Administration  

Washington State Food Truck Association Began Winter Quarter: 
 
Washington State Food Truck Association (WSFTA) began providing Food Truck Vendors on January 6th. You can view the schedule of upcoming Food Trucks on the Washington State Food Truck Association website. While we transition to the new contractor, we expect some logistical hiccups. Please send feedback if you have any to Joe Mazur or Gayla Hocker during this time.  

Facilities and Capital Projects 

Asphalt Striping near Parent Child Center 

The Fire Lane and entrance to Parent Child Center will be delineated and cordoned off on Friday, January 9th, from 9:00am to 3:00pm for asphalt striping.  

Facilities Megamation Work Order Requests:  

Are you having an issue with room temperatures, lights, custodial, or other facilities issues?  Here’s the link to put in a Facilities work order on the Megamation site.  If you need them, here are the instructions to put in a Megamation work order.

  1. The 26/27 Academic Year Scholarship application window is now open! Students only need to submit one application in AwardSpring and they will be considered for every scholarship they’re eligible for. Please take the time to share this information with any students you work with. 
    If you’re interested in volunteering some time to read scholarship applications in April, please let Kara know at khaney@shoreline.edu!      

Events 

The International Education and Continuing Education departments, in partnership with the Indian Consulate Seattle, will sponsor a free Indian light dinner and movie event, Friday, January 9, at 6:00 PM, in the College theater and theater lobby.   

  • The movie English Vinglish, is a warm and funny Indian movie about a middle-aged, middle-class woman who comes to the United States and learns English to gain confidence. It shows how learning a new language can change someone’s life and help them feel respected and understood.  
  • Shoreline students, faculty and staff are invited to the dinner and movie.  Everyone is invited to the movie (which begins at 7pm). 

Edwin Pratt Day of Remembrance 

Join city and community leaders at Shoreline College in celebrating the life of local civil rights leader Edwin T. Pratt (1930-1969). This event will feature remarks from local civil right leaders, city officials, and others with special knowledge of Mr. Pratt’s legacy.
