Hey folks, I hope your week is going well.
This past week I spent the first half (over the weekend) with AVP PArdanani at the Community Colleges for International Development conference. I am on the Board and joined so that we can get additional support for our international program.
The conference was very helpful, and connecting with folks around new opportunities was very encouraging despite the overall context for IE and the airstrikes to Iran over the weekend. It was good to be around folks who are deeply committed to our colleagues from around the world. Several encouraged us to reach out to support all impacted by these recent events, and I would encourage you to do so as well. We are very fortunate to have folks from Iran and surrounding countries as our colleagues right here at Shoreline College. Even just a brief check-in could mean a lot.
Besides that, I have been working on budgets, policy updates, human resources support, and work for my boss(es). Very busy week with a pretty packed schedule – I hope the rain lets up!
Cheers,
Jack

Technology Support Services (TSS)
Microsoft Email Quarantine Reminder
Technology Support Services (TSS) would like to remind the campus community about an important Microsoft security feature in use at Shoreline: email quarantine. This tool helps protect you by isolating spam, phishing attempts, malware, and other policy‑violating messages before they reach your inbox.
If a message addressed to you is flagged, you will receive a notification from quarantine@messaging.microsoft.com. This alert will list the blocked email(s) and provide options to:
- Review the message in quarantine
- Release the message to your inbox
- Block the sender
Please remember: Only release a message if you are completely certain it is legitimate and safe.
You can also access your full quarantine directly at any time here:
https://security.microsoft.com/quarantine
Upcoming Enhancements
Due to an increase in fraudulent email activity, TSS will be implementing additional security controls to improve the accuracy of the quarantine system and capture more malicious messages. As with any enhanced filtering, there is a possibility that legitimate emails may occasionally be quarantined.
We encourage everyone to regularly monitor their quarantine notifications to ensure important messages are not missed.
Thank you for your continued attention to campus cybersecurity and for helping keep our systems safe.
