Steps Taken to Lessen Impact on Parking by Mar. 23 Automotive Event

The Shoreline Community College Professional Automotive Training Center – Dealer Training Academy will be hosting the Vehicle Maintenance Management Conference (VMMC) the week of March 23rd.

This is a large event that happens annually and will likely have some impact on parking around the 2100 building. We have taken steps to help lessen the impact to the campus community during the spring break and the first days of the spring quarter. Please note that there will be an increase in traffic around the 2100 building and we will be moving vehicles back to the building in a scheduled manner to help lessen the impact to students, staff and faculty.

Legislators to host town hall meeting

State Sen. Maralyn Chase, D-Shoreline, and State Rep. Cindy Ryu, D-Shoreline, will host a town hall meeting, 2-3:30 p.m., Saturday, March 14, at the Shoreline Fire Department, 17525 Aurora Ave. N., Shoreline.

Both Chase and Ryu represent the 32nd Legislative District, which includes Shoreline Community College.

“These kinds of meetings are terrific venues for candid discussions of the issues and priorities important to the 32nd District and our state,” Chase said. “With the 2015 legislative session underway, we can discuss the critical issues that we are facing in Olympia.”

The meeting will include an update of legislation action during the session along with questions and answers to constituents’ concerns.

“It’s always a pleasure to hear directly from citizens and have a real dialogue about solving our common problems,” Ryu said. “I look forward to hearing your questions, comments and ideas for how to make our state a better place.”
