Concrete Sealant Application Friday 3/15- Note About Potential Odor

Hello Campus Community,

Today we were made aware that some individuals were smelling an unpleasant order associated with Cedar Building concrete sealant application process.  The contractor has provided the MSDS  (attached in your e-mail) for the sealant, and indicated the sealant being used is not hazardous. Forma will be pouring concrete again tomorrow (Fri, 3/14) at 10am, followed by the sealant spray (source of odor) at 2pm.  See the pour plan below of the area they are pouring tomorrow.

Employees with accommodations in place impacted by the concrete sealant application process can contact HR at hr@shoreline.edu for any support needed. Any other employees potentially impacted by the smell are welcome to work with their supervisor to explore remote work options noting that campus services must remain open and staffed during this time.

Finally, while the materials being used are not hazardous, we ask that you please avoid the area indicated on the map during this time.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Kimberlee Clark
