Weekend Community Event and Impact on Campus

Dear Campus Community,

This weekend, Shoreline Community College is partnering with Shoreline Police, Kenmore Police, and the King County Sheriff’s Office to host a Gift Cards for Guns event on campus. There will be a noticeable presence of law enforcement at the event as well as some areas of campus that will be closed for the duration of the event. Attached is a map that shows the affected areas (which include Building 2000 and all roadways and parking areas west of Bldg. 1500, 1600, 1700, and 1800. Additionally, a detour will be in place for drivers attempting to access the City of Shoreline Off Leash Dog Park and the north side of campus. The closures will be in effect from 7:00am – 3:00pm (or end of operations). You can find additional information at https://www.facebook.com/KingCountySheriff

This is a map of the campus that shows where the impacted parking will be.

If you have any additional questions, you can reach out to the Department of Safety & Security or President’s Office.

Respectfully,

Your Department of Safety & Security

IMPORTANT TSS UPDATE: Internet has been Restored!

Good news!

We have received word that our campus connection has been restored. The engineers were able to locate the issue and find a stable resolution. They will continue to monitor the situation; however, they do not expect any further service disruptions.

Again, we thank you all for your patience in this matter.

Go forth and “internet” away!

Have a great afternoon!

IMPORTANT TSS UPDATE 9:40pm 10/16/23 Further Internet Disruption Scheduled Tomorrow

Good evening-

Tonight, Jason from TSS messaged out the following:

“We have received an update from King County, and they have escalated the ticket to the engineers.  They have found additional potential issues with the fiber lines and are scheduled to begin work tomorrow at approximately 6:30am. It is very likely that the internet connection for campus will be down for a period of time tomorrow morning.”

In light of the expected internet interruption tomorrow morning, we ask that you please work with your supervisor to make temporary alternate working arrangements off-campus as needed until the current issue has been resolved.

We will continue to deliver updates as we have them.

Thanks!
