Campus Updates 7/24/2025

Events and News

Thursday 07/24/2025 from WWU

Hey folks,

Hope all are doing well.  I spent much of last week with the presidents from across WA State to discuss various topics, including overall budget items for the immediate future.  It was great to meet with colleagues, but of course many of the challenges discussed were tough at times.

The rest of the week was mostly catching up on summer projects (working on policies for example).  We had a great meeting on our campus with Dr. Sabah Randhawa and his team from Western Washington University to talk about strengthening our partnership and finding new ways to support students who wish to transfer there.  Keep an eye out for updates.

Cheers,

Jack

Enrollments

  • Summer “10th day” enrollment report shows a 4.3% increase compared to last year, a 3-year upward trend.
  • Archives of past daily enrollment reports are available.

Mail Services

As operations and coverage of the Mail Services Department continues among different employees, we need your help as we adjust our mail and package handling and delivery procedures.

To help complete our mission to timely send and receive interoffice mail, USPS mail, and other carrier packages, please pick up and drop off your items at the Mail Services Office (Room 9100) located at the external loading dock on the ground floor of the PUB 9000 Building. Please do not come to the interior door as the noise levels inside cover up door knocking sounds.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time. If you have any questions or need assistance, please feel free to contact Joe Mazur, Kimberlee Clark, Aimee Henson, or Gayla Hocker.

Facilities and Capital Projects

Foundation

The Foundation has sent a direct mail appeal to nearly 4,000 constituents asking them to make a gift in support of the BEdA program at Shoreline College. The letter helps folks understand what BEdA is, who it serves, and why it is important. It also provides folks with a link to make a gift in support of this and other threatened resources. If you would like to make a gift to help this effort, you can do so by:

  1. Clicking this link to make a gift with your credit card
  1. Clicking here to make a gift through payroll deduction, or

A link to the appeal is available for you to share: July 14.docx  Please feel free to share the appeal and the QR code with your friends, family, and other networks. Every dollar helps.

Wave of Gratitude

Asako is incredible. Towards the end of the year, she helped figure out creative ways to leverage Opportunity Grant and other Workforce Funding to help spend down our grants. She is incredibly positive, efficient and willing to help the Workforce team. She has been instrumental to workforce in planning for the move to the 1400 building. She has gone as far as to measure desk spaces and design the new front desk area. From Jenna Schlein, the Opportunity Grant Specialist in Workforce Education.

As a reminder, for those wishing to acknowledge the work of fellow shoreline staff members or a group at Shoreline, you need only submit a Waves of Gratitude form for individuals or a Shoreline Shoutout for groups.
