Campuswide Earthquake Drill on 10/20/16
Where will you be at 10:20 a.m. on Thursday? Join us for the Great Washington Shakeout!
All students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to “drop, cover, and hold” wherever you are on campus at 10:20 a.m. On Thursday, October 20, 2016. Here’s what to do:
- Shoreline Community College will send a Rave Alert test message the morning of the Great Shakeout to remind you to participate at 10:20 a.m. (You can update your communication preferences here.)
- Faculty members: Please plan to devote 5 minutes of class to this statewide drill at 10:20 a.m. And encourage your students to take part in it.
- At 10:20 a.m., drop to the ground, take cover under a sturdy desk or table, and hold on for 30 seconds. Then remind your friends and colleagues to reviewShoreline’s emergency plan to be prepared in the event of a real earthquake.
- From 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the PUB lobby, please stop by for a special demonstration by Safety & Security of our Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) and Stryker evacuation chairs.
Cancellation of the WFSE Contract Training on Fri., Oct. 21 and Sat., Oct. 22

Based on an updated discussion today with Jerry Owens, WFSE Chief Shop Steward, the College has mutually agreed to cancel the WFSE Contract Training that was recently rescheduled to occur this week Friday evening and Saturday morning, on October 21 and 22. That training will be removed from the listed comp time accrual opportunities for the planned Winter Closure in December, and a comparable alternative training opportunity will be announced within the next week.
The College will present annual WFSE Contract Training with the union for the recently negotiated contract during spring quarter in 2017. Thank you.
