Join us for the Seattle Pride Parade Meet-up

A Shoreline Shout-out To the hard-working team that helped to make the 2024 Commencement ceremony a success, thank you for all of the time and effort you put forth to help us round out another year, and to celebrate such an important milestone in our students’ lives.
I have appreciated all of the entertaining and constructive conversations that you have been a part of, and am indebted to you for your expertise and problem-solving as we navigated a variety of challenges returning to one ceremony after five years.
A special shoutout to our facilities team led by Kim, Aimee, and Ron, thank you SO MUCH for all of your hard work putting together the gym and overflow rooms, and for making the campus shine.
My sincerest gratitude to the Student Life team, Mashaal and Amalia, who helped to dot the “i”s and cross the “t”s, steaming gowns, calling vendors, and everything in between. This truly could not have been done without you.
Last but certainly not least, to our co-lead Yushin, for the countless hours of planning, your attention to detail, and your positivity and moral support.
Commencement will always be my favorite event of the year. The smiling faces of the graduates and their families, all of the faculty in their regalia, for me it will always represent the best of Shoreline. Thanks to everyone who made the magic happen.

Events and News
It’s commencement week!! I can’t wait to see all our students and families this week – it’s one of the (if not THE) best days for us in higher education. Looking forward to seeing you all at the commencement ceremony and celebrating all the fantastic work you have done with students this year.
One highlight this week was attending the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges Government to Government summit at Evergreen State College. It was really great learning from our tribal partners and being invited into important conversations about how to serve the tribal communities. It was also good to see two Shoreline colleagues there — new VP DEIA Brian Ramos (who was also a panelist) and Brandon Fryman!
By the way, did you see this great article from the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) about Shoreline Community College Dental Hygiene’s new bachelor’s program and partnership with University of Washington! Congrats again!
It’s been a busy week also with a lot of campus meetings, but I’m so glad that we are completing the quarter and celebrating Friday. See you soon!
Cheers,
Jack
