IMPORTANT TSS UPDATE: Internet has been Restored!

Good news!

We have received word that our campus connection has been restored. The engineers were able to locate the issue and find a stable resolution. They will continue to monitor the situation; however, they do not expect any further service disruptions.

Again, we thank you all for your patience in this matter.

Go forth and “internet” away!

Have a great afternoon!

IMPORTANT TSS UPDATE 9:40pm 10/16/23 Further Internet Disruption Scheduled Tomorrow

Good evening-

Tonight, Jason from TSS messaged out the following:

“We have received an update from King County, and they have escalated the ticket to the engineers.  They have found additional potential issues with the fiber lines and are scheduled to begin work tomorrow at approximately 6:30am. It is very likely that the internet connection for campus will be down for a period of time tomorrow morning.”

In light of the expected internet interruption tomorrow morning, we ask that you please work with your supervisor to make temporary alternate working arrangements off-campus as needed until the current issue has been resolved.

We will continue to deliver updates as we have them.

Thanks!

IMPORTANT TSS UPDATE: Explanation of Today’s Outage

Hi everyone,

We have received more information on the outage we experienced yesterday and this morning.  It appears our upstream fiber connection located in Green Lake encountered fiber circuit instability beginning on Sunday morning. These issues caused the Shoreline network to lose connectivity. While this is not an issue that originated at the College it is one that impacted us.  TSS worked with the K-20 engineers and King County fiber technicians to identify and troubleshoot the issue.  Although the issue has been resolved, the King County technicians will continue to monitor for any reoccurrences and notify us accordingly.  We thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Have a great night!

IMPORTANT: TSS UPDATES Possible Continued Internet Disruption

Dear Campus,

This morning we sent communication stating that our internet connection was down.  This is due to external issues with connectivity outside of campus.  We were able to restore connectivity, but then it went down briefly due to continued testing.

As of right now the connection is restored, but within the next hour K-20 fiber technicians will be doing more testing of the fiber connections that connect our campus to the greater outside internet and can potentially bring our internet down for another 20-30 minutes.

We are expecting connections to be restored after that, but will have more information forthcoming after the testing is complete.

Thank you!
