Exciting News: Phase One of the Intranet is Here!

We’re excited to announce the launch of Phase One of Shoreline’s employee intranet! This new internal site is designed to be a central place for resources, updates, and stories; helping college employees stay more informed and connected. 

Launching Phase One is a major milestone, and it reflects a tremendous amount of planning and collaboration. I want to extend a HUGE thank-you to Damon Logan, our Web Communications Coordinator, for leading the build of this site, as well as the Strategic Action Team members and divisions across the college who contributed to planning, content, and information sharing. 

Accessing the Intranet 

The intranet is for employees only and is not viewable by the public. You’ll need to log in using your Microsoft credentials.

We recommend bookmarking the link above for easy access. For now, you can also find the sign-in link at the top of the “Employee Forms and Resources” page on our public website. 

What You’ll See in Phase One 

Intranet Homepage:

  • The core homepage layout is live 
  • DAAG posts have begun moving to the intranet
    • DAAG will eventually go away and content will be fully housed here; for now, news will appear in both locations 
  • Quicklinks to frequently used Shoreline tools 
  • HR, Safety, and Facilities announcements 
  • Major news highlights (still working on these, but you’ll start seeing rotating stories soon) 
  • Academic and employee calendar feeds (the basics are here, but this is still a work in progress 
  • First version of a “Documents” section
    • The documents from our current public facing page can all be found at the bottom of the intranet homepage (they will likely move to a toolbar at the top but we’re still working on that) 

Division Homepages 

  • Our large division homepages are now available via the top navigation bar
  • Each division splash page includes: 
    • Quicklinks (clearly labeled and partially populated) 
    • Resources and Information (organized categories, with more content coming) 
      • Many links and areas are populated, but there is still a lot of content to add. 
    • “Who We Are” (sections to help you know who to contact)
      • Please note that some departments are larger than others and will take longer to sort out and populate, so you’ll see more added here as we go) 

What’s Next in Phase Two 

As we look to Phase Two which we will be announcing later this spring, you will see other elements added including: 

  • Additional content across all pages, including the homepage 
  • Functional stories and calendar feeds for each major division 
  • Improved integration of division content into the homepage specifically related to stories and calendar entries 

Feedback 

Each major division has designated editors who are helping manage content. If you have questions, feedback, or notice an issue: 

  • Use the “Report Site Issue” button in the footer of any page
    • Submissions will go directly to the editors for that area 
  • General feedback submitted from the homepage will go directly to Damon

We appreciate your patience as we continue building and expanding this site, and we welcome your input as we move forward. 

Logo Rollout Update and Next Steps

We wanted to share a quick update on the rollout of Shoreline’s new name and logo and what to expect in the coming weeks. 

Towards the end of Feb, we will release the official logo files, including the primary logo, alternate versions, and department lockups, along with updated brand guidelines and instructions for use. This will be the point at which campus units will have the tools and guidance needed to begin making updates to materials. 

Until those resources are available, I want to remind you to please hold off on making logo or name changes to email signatures, publications, websites, or other materials. If you have an upcoming project or design need, you are welcome to submit a request now, and our team will add it to the queue and complete it once the brand guidelines are finalized.   

Remember, this will be a gradual transition and will take some time to shift everything over.  When we initially announced the name change, our goal was to be completely transitioned by the end of the 26-27 school year.  It is likely our full transition will happen sooner than that date, but a gradual transition gives time to ensure compliance across all areas of the college as well as minimize waste of existing branded materials. 

You may have noticed that we recently launched a digital ad campaign promoting enrollment openings at our Parent Child Center using the new logo. With a longer campaign timeline of 6-8 weeks, this provided an early opportunity to begin introducing the new identity in our digital materials.  

Today, we also shared a public announcement on our website and social media channels. Please feel free to share the post or article with colleagues and contacts who may be interested. For reference, students were given a heads up when the logo was announced to staff, so they are already aware of the change.

Campus Updates 1/15/2026

Well, it’s been a very busy week – for you as well, I’m sure.  As we start the quarter, there’s a lot to catch up on.  I have been working on evaluations and some new relationships I am hoping to foster.  I’ll keep you posted on those.  I did have a great conversation this week with Rod Dembowski from the King County City Council.  He’s a great supporter of the college and I learned about some new initiatives from him.   

I was also able to attend three incredible events that truly reflect the strength and diversity of our community. 

I attended one event hosted by the Consulate General of India in Seattle and our International Education department, which was a beautiful celebration of culture and connection. Consul General Prakash Gupta, Debadutta Dash, and their team shared inspiring words, treated us to a wonderful Indian dinner, and screened the award-winning film English Vinglish as part of the 2026 India Film Festival series. The film’s message resonates deeply with our values—advocating for internationalization, multilingualism, and supporting immigrant communities in their pursuit of dignity and respect. 

I also attended the virtual kick-off of the Latino Educational Training Institute’s (LETI) 2026 Latino Leadership Initiative. It was an honor to join LETI founder and President Rosario Reyes and other amazing colleagues to celebrate this milestone. I’m excited to see the program grow and empower future leaders, which will include Shoreline students for the first time. 

Finally, the grand opening of our new Center for Student Empowerment, “yəhaw̓ the Gathering!” was an incredible success. The space was packed with energy—student organizations came together for music, games, and Egyptian food from a local alum, all centered on the vision to “lift up the sky together.” Huge thanks to the faculty and staff who have supported this idea for more than 40 years as well as Savena Garrett, Brian Ramos, and the entire team for making this happen. I can’t wait to see what’s next for this inspiring initiative.

Business Administration  

Washington State Food Truck Association Began Winter Quarter: 
 
Washington State Food Truck Association (WSFTA) began providing Food Truck Vendors on January 6th. You can view the schedule of upcoming Food Trucks on the Washington State Food Truck Association website. While we transition to the new contractor, we expect some logistical hiccups. Please send feedback if you have any to Joe Mazur or Gayla Hocker during this time.  

Technology Support Services (TSS) 

Student Migration Project: 

TSS would like to provide an update on the Student Migration Project. All student email accounts have now been transitioned from Google to Microsoft, and account domains have been updated. Student usernames remain the same; however, the domain (everything after the “@”) has changed from @go.shoreline.edu to @shoreline.edu. Multifactor Authentication (MFA) is now required for all students, providing improved account security. 

To support a smooth transition, a temporary email alias has been enabled. Messages sent to a student’s former @go.shoreline.edu address will continue to be delivered to their new Microsoft account. This alias is intended to give students time to update their contact information to the new address. We will reevaluate the timeline for this alias in the Spring ’26 quarter. 

Due to the outage over the New Year’s holiday, the timeline for fully deactivating the Google platform has been delayed. Most Google services have been disabled; however, access to Google Drive remains available by TSS request through next Friday, January 23rd, for students who wish to download or retrieve any active documents or items that may not have transferred during the migration. We anticipate fully discontinuing the Google platform within the next two weeks. 

Ricoh Printing Issues: 

Following the Microsoft outage, TSS has received reports that some campus users are unable to send print jobs or emails to Ricoh printers. We are actively working with Ricoh to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. USB printing remains functional at this time. We will share an update as soon as full service is restored. 

Foundation 

The 26/27 Academic Year Scholarship application window is now open! Students only need to submit one application in AwardSpring and they will be considered for every scholarship they’re eligible for. Please take the time to share this information with any students you work with.
