PUBLIC NOTICE OF UPCOMING ACCREDITATION REVIEW VISIT BY THE ACEN

The Shoreline Community College – Nursing Education Program wishes to announce that it will host a site visit for continuing accreditation of its 6 Quarter (Traditional), 11 Quarter (Part-Time) and LPN to RN Advanced Placement nursing programs by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

You are invited to meet with the site visit team and share your comments about the program in person at a meeting scheduled at 1:45 p.m.-2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, 09/30/2025, in Room 2150 (McNaughton Dining Room) in the Automotive Building – (2100) located at 16101 Greenwood Avenue N, Shoreline, WA 98133.

This meeting can also be attended virtually on Zoom.

Written comments are also welcome and should be submitted to the ACEN via email at: public-comments@acenursing.org or to the ACEN office:

Opening Week 2025

We’re just days away from kicking off the 2025–26 academic year – starting with Opening Week!

Whether you’re returning after the summer, have been working through it, or are joining us for the first time, we’re excited to come together and set the tone for a fantastic year ahead.

On Thursday, September 18, all campus services will be closed to the public from 8:00am to 1:30pm so that all employees can participate in our annual Convocation.

Human Resources invites you to mark your calendar for our new monthly series of virtual drop-in sessions! Your HR team will present information, provide helpful tips, and answer your questions about a timely HR topic – read on for details!

Workforce Funding Information Sessions

Do you know any students who need help paying for college? At our WFE Info Sessions, we’ll discuss how Workforce Education can pay for tuition, books, and transportation costs. We will also share information on each Workforce Grant as well as the application process.  

Please encourage students to visit startnextquarter.org to see if they are pre-qualified and sign up for our Information Sessions.

Notice: NWEMS on Campus September 8–12

Next week, our campus will welcome back the Western Energy Institute for its second year of their Northwest Electrical Metering School.

Operating in its 71st year, Western Energy Institute’s school curriculum emphasizes the importance of quality technical training in metering, while integrating fresh technological trends and perspectives. This course is designed to support metering apprentices and journeymen in the electric utility industry through expert lectures and hands-on lab training, covering everything from the basics of metering theory to AMI and high-end meter applications.

NWEMS will use space in the following buildings: 1100, 1500, 1700, and 9000.

Please note that we’re expecting a higher volume of visitors on campus throughout the week.
