EVENTS AND NEWS

ctcLink Weekly Updates

This week marked a major milestone for the ctcLink Project at Shoreline. Subject Matter Experts from across campus participated in a live practice session on Tuesday, December 7th to simulate the activities we will be doing over Go-Live weekend prior to our launch on February 28th, 2022. The day was a success as we gained valuable experience and learned lessons we will carry forward over the coming months. We are thankful for the hard work and dedication of all those who have been working on the project and their colleagues who have been supportive of their efforts.

HSAMCC Construction Activity

Last week, concrete structural foundation footing work began for the new Health Sciences and Advanced Manufacturing Classroom Center (HSAMCC).  This work will include an increased amount of concrete and delivery activity on campus during normal construction hours through January 2022.  Please be mindful to navigate around this work safely.

Lost Girl is available for viewing on YouTube

Come support our students and enjoy an evening of fabulous entertainment from the stage of our campus theater into the heart of your homes!   This weekend only, the Shoreline Community College theater department bring you their live stream performance of “Lost Girl”, by Kimberly Belflower.   For those that missed our live stage performances, this is your chance to see our college’s students shine through the dark veil we have all been under for almost 2 years.   And for those that did attend, here is a chance to relive the magic once again. And it’s free!
Long after returning from Neverland, Wendy decides that she must find Peter in order to reclaim her kiss and move on with her life. Along the way, she meets other girls who went to Neverland and learns she is not alone. A coming-of-age exploration of first love and lasting loss, Lost Girl continues the story of J.M. Barrie’s beloved character – the girl who had to grow up.
Gather up the gang, grab a bowl of popcorn and your favorite beverage, then sit down and enjoy an evening of entertainment through this coming of age story about the beloved characters from Peter Pan.  (Recommended for kids 12 and over)

CANVAS ACCESS DIFFICULTIES RESOLVED 12/07/211

What is happening: Users are presently experiencing time outs, inability to access, or extreme slowness when attempting to access Canvas resources

Event date: December 7th, 2021

Persons affected: There should be no further affected users.

Expected resolution time: 2:47PM PST

Details:[2:47 PM PST] We have mitigated the underlying issue that caused some network devices in the US-EAST-1 Region to be impaired. We are seeing improvement in availability across most AWS services. All services are now independently working through service-by-service recovery. We continue to work toward full recovery for all impacted AWS Services and API operations. In order to expedite overall recovery, we have temporarily disabled Event Deliveries for Amazon EventBridge in the US-EAST-1 Region. These events will still be received & accepted, and queued for later delivery.
Thank you.
