UPDATE: Winter Quarter Student Parking Grace Period Extended

Safety & Security has extended the grace period for students to purchase parking permits until Monday, 1/19. Citations for lack of permit will begin on Tuesday, 1/20.

During the grace period, visitor lot violations, ADA violations, parking in multiple stalls, parking in assigned spots/lots, and other illegal and hazardous violations will still be cited.

Beginning January 20, 2026, permits are required to park on campus weekdays during the quarter, Monday – Friday from 6:00am – 4:00pm, excluding holidays.

Students can purchase parking permits in Student Finance (aka Cashiers), located on the second Floor of Bldg. 5000 (FOSS). When purchasing their permit, students will need to provide their vehicle make, model, and license plate number.

Drum Roll Please…Introducing our New College Logo!

We have exciting news to share! The votes are in, and our new college logo has been selected!

We received 1,250 votes from across our community, and we’re excited to share that more than half of those votes came from our students. Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote, give feedback, and help shape this important moment for our college.

Our new logo builds on our existing brand by keeping key colors and giving a nod to our original wave design, while introducing native flora that helps to further reflect our sense of place. As a beautiful, tree-filled campus located along the shores of the Puget Sound, this design thoughtfully represents who we are and the environment that surrounds our college.

The logo integrates Shoreline’s iconic waves with the solid strength of the Western Red Cedar, symbolizing movement, growth, and resilience. These elements honor our Pacific Northwest setting, cultural connections, and the transformative journeys our students take as they move forward in their education.

The Western Red Cedar holds deep cultural significance for Indigenous Peoples of the Coast Salish region and represents cedar symbolizes life, resilience, and interconnectedness.  It serves as a living reminder of the community spirit that is integral to our mission, vision, values, and our commitment to equity and belonging.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Senior Graphic Designer Mia Bradshaw for her outstanding work throughout this process, as well as to everyone who shared ideas, feedback, and thoughtful suggestions along the way.

Over the coming weeks, we will begin rolling out our new logo alongside our new name, Shoreline College. You’ll start to see these elements reflected across both internal and external communications, and we will share the tools and guidance you will need to make the changes to your own documents and projects. Please note that this transition will happen gradually, and we appreciate your patience as we implement this historic change.

For now, we ask that you do not make changes to email signatures, publications, or other materials until you receive further guidance. If you have an immediate project or design need, please submit a graphic design request through our support site. I am also happy to answer any questions you may have.
