Shoreline Community College Suspends Women’s Basketball 2017-18 Season

Based on low participation and a multitude of athlete injuries, Shoreline Community College and the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) mutually agreed that suspending the Women’s Basketball 2017-18 season would be best.

“We highly praise the perseverance our student-athletes demonstrated under challenging circumstances,” said Steve Eskridge, Director of Athletics. “It takes time to develop a rhythm as a team, and these players showed amazing determination and spirit in facing off against more seasoned NWAC programs. We also greatly appreciate and want to thank everyone who supported the team this year.”

“Newly hired Head Coach, Amy Donovan, is already at work building the 2018-19 Women’s Basketball PhinNation season,” said Eskridge.

Shaun Warner named Women’s Soccer Head Coach

shaunwarnerShoreline Community College Athletics is proud to announce Shaun Warner as its new Head Coach of Women’s Soccer. We are extremely excited to have Shaun on the sidelines as coach.

Warner comes to Shoreline after a long, successful career as the Head Coach of the Bothell High School Men’s and Women’s programs. Warner has been coaching at the high school level for the past 14 years. He has won Seattle Times coach of the year and is a three-time King County coach of the year. Warner has helped his current girl’s high school team to three straight playoffs, and the boy’s team made it to state in 2017. Warner has also coached at the club level with success. In high school, Shaun was a two-sport Varsity athlete playing both soccer and basketball. He went on to play soccer in college on the club team at Loyola Marymount University.

Shaun is a loving husband to his wife Katy and father to his two children, Kaydence (4) and Zander (2).

There’s liver for dinner, holes in his shoes, and a war on the horizon, but 15-year-old Eugene Jerome would rather think about baseball…and girls. Surrounded by his overworked mother and father, his “worldly” older brother, his aunt, and two cousins, Eugene has plenty of material for his future career as a writer. This coming-of-age story is an affectionate, entertaining lesson in overcoming hard times with warmth and humor.

Brighton Beach Memoirs is the first installment in Neil Simon’s semi-autobiographical Eugene Jerome trilogy (which includes the plays Biloxi Blues and Broadway Bound) and is one of America’s most cherished plays. The New York Daily News called the original New York production “…in many respects Neil Simon’s funniest, richest, and consequently the most affecting of his plays”, and elevated Simon into the pantheon of great American playwrights.
