Tony Costa began at Shoreline Community College as a student following a successful career in the Navy.
He started working at the college at the same time, taking on duties as a work-study student. After graduation, he transitioned into a string of positions that ranged from tutoring coordinator to golf instructor and lots more in between.
Now, after 21 years, Costa is retiring. Friends, family and coworkers gathered Thursday, June 12, 2014 to honor Costa and his commitment to students.

Changes in Instructional Design Staff in eLearning Services
The college is announcing two changes in staffing in eLearning Services:
1. It is with much sadness that we announce that Kathleen Chambers, Instructional Designer, will be leaving the college at the end of this month for a position at a sister college.
Please help us wish her the best at a going away party on Thursday, Feb. 6, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in 1208M.
2. It is with much excitement that we announce Amy Rovner as our new Instructional Designer. Currently, Amy serves as eLearning Faculty-In-Residence and will continue in that role through the end of winter quarter. Amy will start as Instructional Designer on March 26th. Amy can be reached at arovner@shoreline.edu, 206-546-6966, and in office 1212. Amy graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Hotel Administration with a concentration in Food & Beverage Management. After working in the hospitality industry for several years, she decided to pursue additional education in Nutrition. She received her Masters in Public Health and Nutrition from the University of Washington. She also completed an internship to become a Registered Dietitian. She currently is enrolled in a one-year certificate program in Online Teaching. Amy says, “I love teaching online and helping students understand Nutrition but I’m also very interested in how to be a better online educator. In my spare time I like to play with my boys, hike, read, and bake.”
