New Program Coordinator in eLearning Services

Miriam Grayson

Miriam Grayson

Miriam Grayson is the new Program Coordinator in eLearning Services.  You can reach her in the front office area of the 1200 building or via elearning@shoreline.edu or 206-546-6966.  Here’s her bio:

“Born and raised in London, UK, I relocated to Seattle in January 2013 to join my husband who is from Washington.

In London, I worked as a medical secretary/personal assistant to six psychiatrists in a mental health unit for four years and, before working here at Shoreline Community College, I worked at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance in the intake team, assisting new patients.

I grew up in a very multicultural family and have also travelled extensively and really enjoy learning about different cultures/visiting new countries. My passions are singing, playing the guitar, travelling, baking and swimming.

I really enjoy helping people and problem solving and am very excited to be able to put these qualities into action while working at Shoreline Community College. I am looking forward to learning new skills and meeting new people.”

Happy Trails!

segwaysThe fabulous, fashion-forward, ‘get-it-done’ Ms. Kimberly Chandler and TSS’s extraordinary, ‘leave-no-student-behind’ lab technician, Christopher Domico, will be leaving our beloved Shoreline Community College for new adventures.  I wonder if they’ll need a copy of the ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’?  Smile. (So long and thanks for all the fish!)

Please join the TSS staff on Thursday, 10/31/2013 at 3:00pm, room 4122 for a gathering of folks to wish them good luck and best wishes as they take their next career journey.

New media technician senior in eLearning, Chris Joss

jossI am pleased to introduce Chris Joss, our new Media Technician Senior in eLearning.  He is available to assist you with integrating media (audio, video, graphics, and photographs) into your eLearning classes.  He also will provide support for those using lecture capture (Tegrity) and web conferencing (Blackboard Collaborate) as part of your eLearning classes.

Chris is a Washington state native, recently returned from a 20 year hiatus in sunny San Diego.  He lives in Arlington, overlooking the north fork of the Stilliguamish River with his two cats Google and Lucy.

Chris has a fifteen year background in event promotions and branding.  He has worked with organizations in all 50 states providing logo design, typesetting, graphic layouts, and raster to vector artwork conversions to meet their needs. In 2010, Chris began working with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, and After Effects which fueled his love of media production.  Eager to expand his knowledge and proficiency, he enrolled in the VCT program at Shoreline Community College in 2012 with the goal of building a career in multimedia production. Since January, Chris has produced twenty promotional videos for Shoreline’s International Education recruiting efforts.
