Stanley Machokoto, Shoreline Class of 2013, stopped by the college Thurs., June 5 to thank Shoreline faculty for the help they’d given him in reaching his goal of going on to graduate from the UW with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work (BASW).

Originally from South Africa, Machokoto particularly wanted to thank the librarians for helping him to navigate attending college in the U.S. “I didn’t even know how to type when I came here, let alone do research,” he said. “The librarians sat down with me several times and when they explained things, they finally made sense to me.”

Machokoto also wanted to thank Professor Larry Clarke, whose Sociology class got Machokoto interested in social work and his current career path. Kudos to Clarke, the Library Technology Center staff and everyone else who made Machokoto’s Shoreline experience one he’s thankful for.
