Join us Thurs., Feb. 3 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the PUB 9208 for Germany’s perspective on the United States: Challenges and Prospects.
Dr. Frank Wendler: DAAD Visiting Professor, Department of Political Science and the Jackson School of International Studies, University of Washington.
While the United States continues to be a key political partner and ally in Europe, new challenges have arisen recently, including:
• The future economic, political and military partnership between Europe and the U.S.
• The rise of populist politics and anti-immigrant rhetoric in both the U.S. and Europe
Dr. Wendler, who recently published a book about European regional politics and political polarization, argues that recent developments, including the rise of populism in both the U.S. and in Europe, reflect long-standing challenges since the end of the Cold War rather than entirely new ones.

This survey comes out of the college identity project we began last winter with CLARUS Corporation that involved developing messages about the College based on multiple listening sessions and surveys with students, employees, and community members.
