Both the Women’s and Men’s Phins Basketball teams have home games against Whatcom this Sat., Feb. 11. Come on out and cheer them on to victory! Women play from 2-4 p.m., men from 4-6 p.m. Both games are in the main gym in the 3000 bldg. #GoPhins

• What is the present relationship between Taiwan and the U.S., and what might it look like in the future?
• What is the role of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in advancing mutual understanding and commerce?
Taiwan has made many important contributions to Asian culture. According to the U.S. Department of State’s Taiwan Fact Sheet, “The United States and Taiwan enjoy a robust unofficial relationship” despite the fact that in 1979 the U.S. switched diplomatic recognition from Taipei, Taiwan’s capital, to Beijing, the capital of the People’s Republic of China. With us to discuss Taiwan’s history and culture, and the role of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in advancing cultural understanding and commercial relations in the Pacific Northwest, is Vincent C.H. Yao, the Director-General of TECO in Seattle.
