Four electric vehicle charging stations are now operational at Shoreline Community College!

College community,

I am pleased to share with you that four electric vehicle charging stations are now operational at Shoreline Community College, two in the Visitor’s Lot and two in the West Parking Lot.  The stations are clearly striped and signed.

Here are a few pieces of information you need to know about these utilizing these stations.

1.       Contact Greg Cranson, acting Director of Safety and Security, to activate an account.  Greg can be reached at 206-546-4503 or at gcranson@shoreline.edu.

2.       These spaces are designated as charging stations for electric vehicles only.  Non-electric vehicles will not be allowed to park there and violators will be cited.

3.       The stations are open to Shoreline faculty, staff and students at no cost.

4.       The stations are not parking spaces and can only be used for the length of time it takes to charge your vehicle.  Once a vehicle has been completely charged it must be moved into a parking space.  The responsibility for knowing when the vehicle should be moved remains with the driver.

5.       Parking enforcement, and appropriate use of the stations, will be monitored by Safety and Security.  Citations may be issued if the stations are improperly used.

6.       The stations will be operational Monday – Friday, from 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.  Restricting services to these days and times ensures that the college is not gifting state resources to the general public.

The college will assess the use of these stations and make operational adjustments as needed.

Thank you.
