Vaccine Clinics Offered on Campus August 18-October 8

Dear Shoreline Staff,

To support the health and safety of those returning to campus in the fall, Shoreline Community College, in partnership with the Shoreline Fire Department, will offer a series of pop-up COVID-19 vaccine clinics on campus August 18 – October 8, 2021. The clinics are open to students and members of the public who have not been vaccinated or those who are immunocompromised seeking a booster shot. Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines will be available.

We will offer our first opportunity this Wednesday, August 18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. As this is a short turn-around time, we will not require reservations on this day; walk-up appointments only.

The pop-up clinics will operate three days a week at the following times:

  • Mondays (August 23-October 4) from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. (closed September 6 for Labor Day holiday)
  • Wednesdays (August 25-October 6) from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Fridays (August 27-October 8) from 9 a.m.- noon.

Appointments:

Sign up for an appointment two days in advance (link coming soon). The College will also accommodate walk-ups for those who do not schedule an appointment.

Shoreline Community College, 16101 Greenwood Ave. N., Shoreline, WA

Enter the main gate and walk to the Pagoda Union Building (Building 9000), Room 9215

Parking is free.

Requirements:

  • Bring a valid ID
  • Minors under age 18 must provide parental or guardian approval
  • Wear a mask indoors
  • Maintain a three-foot distance indoors
  • Visitors, students, and employees must complete a campus check in form immediately before entering the campus and a check out form upon leaving (through September 7)

UPDATED: Full Campus Power Shutdown Notice – Saturday, August 21

Please be advised, the College’s original power shutdown date of August 14 was rescheduled to August 21 due to scheduling changes with Seattle City Light (SCL).  

Here is the most updated information, including the impact on our computer networks: 

Full Power Shutdown of the Entire Campus 

Date & Duration:

Saturday 8-21-21, 7 AM to 3 PM, 8 hours 

Areas Affected: 
All building across the entire Shoreline Community College Campus will experience loss of power. SCL will be performing electrical work in building 9000. SCL will also be accessing the electrical vault in the East access road. 

Impact on Campus Technology Access: 
Technology Support Services (TSS) server and networking equipment operation will be maintained by backup generators. All web-based services are expected to remain online and available. 

Services that will be unavailable:  

  • Employee Remote Desktop Services will not be available to connect to employee desktops 
  • Campus Wireless Networks will not be available 
  • Student Remote Desktop Services (Splashtop) will not be able to connect to shared instructional computers 

Purpose/Scope: 

To perform required maintenance work on the electrical switch gear in building #9000. This will allow electricians to safely perform smaller localized shutdowns for the HSAMCC project and other future projects on campus. It will also help mitigate campus electrical outages or electrical gear failures in future. Eaton will be cleaning and testing the switch gear in building #9000.

7000 Campus Living Fire Drill: Wednesday, August 11

Dear Colleague,

Please consider this notification that a fire drill is planned for Bldg. 7000 on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. If you see residents evacuating the building or observe the alarm going off during that day; please do not be alarmed and do not call 911.

Changes in the Facilities Department

Greetings,

I am reaching out to share that Pete Babington has left his position at Shoreline. Following Pete’s departure, I am happy to announce that Bob Roehl will be stepping in to provide leadership as Acting Director of Facilities at the College. As many of you may recall, Bob has prior experience serving in this capacity at Shoreline, and we are beyond thrilled he was available to step back in to the position.

While the College moves forward with recruiting a permanent Director of Facilities position, please continue to direct your inquiries as follows:

Please note, due to HSAMCC construction on campus, the entire College will lose power on Saturday, August 14, from approximately 7 am-3 pm.

Full Power Shutdown of Entire Campus:

8-14-21, 7 AM to 3 PM, 8 hours. Alternate date in case of SCL or SCC cancelation is 8-21-21, 7 AM to 3 PM (will re-notify if this change is made)
