Get ready for another installment of the Community Book Read of “Coming of Age in Mississippi.”
The discussion on March 4 from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. will cover chapters 23-26.
This event is free and open to the general public. Please come and explore connections between the historical events that surrounded Ann Moody’s novel, Coming of Age in Mississippi, and compelling issues we still face today around race, injustice and discrimination both locally and globally. We’ll look at activism, then and now, as Shoreline commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Bill and celebrates the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King.
Free books have been made available for students and classified staff.
