You’re Invited—Celebrate 60 Years of Shoreline with Us! 

We’re turning 60—and you’re invited to the party! 

Join Shoreline Community College on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 3:00–7:00 p.m. for a special 60th Anniversary Open House Celebration. It’s our way of saying thank you to the students, alumni, staff, faculty, and community members who’ve made Shoreline what it is today. 

This free, family-friendly event will have something for everyone:  

  • Live performances and films from students 
  • Interactive demonstrations around campus
  • Drop-in pickleball and basketball recreation opportunities
  • Short, engaging mini lectures on a wide variety of topics led by our amazing faculty members 
  • Opportunities to learn about different areas of the college, apply, and register for classes 
  • Light refreshments as well as food for purchase from local food trucks 
  • Raffle prizes, giveaways, and more! 

Founded in 1964, Shoreline Community College has served thousands of students from across the U.S. and more than 65 countries. With over 100 academic and professional/technical programs, the College continues to be a hub for inclusive learning and student success.  

We’ll be celebrating six decades of learning and growing together—while looking ahead to an even brighter future. Whether you’re a longtime Shoreline supporter or are stepping onto campus for the first time, we invite you to reflect on our past, engage with our present, and be inspired for what’s next. Come celebrate with us!

Shoreline Community Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Celebration

Celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month at Shorewood High School! This family friendly event will showcase live music, dance, spoken word, and a feature performance by the world-renowned hip hop dance crew Massive Monkees. There will be carnival games, food trucks, an arts showcase, resource fair, and more! This citywide celebration is led by Shorewood High School’s Asian Student Union and is supported by the City of Shoreline, Shoreline Community College, the Shoreline Historical Society, and the Shoreline School District.

Shoreline Short Short Film Festival

Shoreline Short Short Film Festival, produced by ShoreLake Arts, aims to support emerging and developing filmmakers in Washington State and encourage appreciation for the art of filmmaking in our community.

Best Picture and the People’s Choice selection will take home a campy (Golden) Sasquatch Award, and $1,000 in each category.

Echoes of Resilience: Short Films by Incarcerated Youth

Join us for an unforgettable evening of cinematic exploration, heartfelt conversation and community as we showcase various short films made by WA state incarcerated youth.

  • TIME: 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
  • PLACE: SCC Main Theater (1600)

Created as part of the SHARE Screenwriting Program, these short films offer a glimpse into the thoughts, struggles, and triumphs of individuals navigating incarceration.

Following the screening, there will be a discussion with SHARE’s founder Lindy Boustedt and a panel of guests.

This interactive session will delve deeper into the creative process behind the films, the impact of storytelling on rehabilitation, and the importance of providing avenues for expression to incarcerated youth.

Whether you’re a film enthusiast, advocate for juvenile justice reform, or simply curious about the power of art to inspire change, this event promises to be an enlightening and uplifting experience. Together, let’s amplify the voices of incarcerated youth and foster a culture of empathy, understanding, and empowerment.

9 to 5 The Musical, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, is based on the seminal 1980 hit movie. Set in the late 1970s. this hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic.
