Campus Blood Drive 11/14/24

Shoreline Community College & Bloodworks Northwest are hosting a campus blood drive on Thursday, Nov. 14 from 10:00am-4:00pm in the PUB Main Dining Room (9215). SCC students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to make an appointment to donate by going to https://bit.ly/SCCgivebloodFA24, but walk-ins are welcome (space permitting).

Post Election Coffee with the President

Join us this week for Coffee with the President.

This is intended as a post-election hangout space for folks who want to just be together regardless of your political preferences. I know this is a challenging time right now for our country and I just want to provide a comfortable space for all of you, and to help keep our focus on students no matter what the outcome. ~Jack

2nd Annual Soupsgiving Event 11/21/24

Greetings, 

Get your crockpots and tastebuds ready – the “Golden Ladle” award is once again up for grabs at our Second Annual SOUPSGIVING Contest and Employee Event! This year’s celebrity judge will be none other than our own faculty member Tony Doupe (a superstar both on campus and in the film industry!). Awards will include the 2024 Golden Ladle (selected by our celebrity judge) and the People’s Choice (based on employee votes). 

Who: All employees are welcome to submit a soup to share with the campus community, OR to just attend as a taste taster and voter!  

Supervisors: Please work with your employees to support attendance if they are unable to do so on their lunch break. 

What: SOUPSGIVING – a fun event to promote employee relationships, support students, and serve up both tasty soup and bragging rights.

When: Thursday, November 21, 12:00-1:30pm

2024 Election Talk Series Part 3- Happening Today 10/24/24

Join us for an afternoon of learning with political science faculty Heather Frolic as she answers questions about the process of the Electoral College, the constitutional process used to elect the President and Vice President of the United States.  

Heather will also share the timeline for official certifications of the 2024 election results and provide resources for the tracking the process during the 2024 presidential election cycle.

Reminder: Covid & Flu Vaccine Clinic This Thursday 10/24/24

All students, faculty, and staff are invited to sign up for the upcoming campus vaccine clinic taking place on Thurs. 10/24 from 11:30am-1:30pm in the PUB QDR (9208). To register, have your insurance card on-hand and go to https://bit.ly/SCC_Vaccine2024.

Insurance: Almost all major insurance is accepted except for Cigna, TriCare, and some out of state Blue Cross Blue Shield plans. 

Cost without Insurance: $200 for Covid vaccine, $55 for flu vaccine

What to Bring: Have your confirmation code from your online reservation, your insurance card, and a photo ID at the time of your appointment.
