Opportunity to Attend the NW Regional Equity Conference February 22-24, 2023

Greetings Campus Community ~

The college is offering registration sponsorship for up to ten members of our community interested in attending the  NW Regional Equity Conference, taking place virtually February 22 – 24, 2023. This conference aims to improve equitable, sustainable experiences and outcomes for systemically marginalized and underrepresented populations through inclusive and anti-racist strategies. This conference is geared toward educators, administrators, non-profit, governmental, and other professionals and individuals across the region who would like to broaden their social justice knowledge or remove institutional barriers for systemically underrepresented populations.

If you are interested in being considered for a conference sponsorship, please send a letter of interest indicating how attendance could help broaden your social justice knowledge or remove institutional barriers for systemically underrepresented populations in regards to your position on campus.

Please submit letters for consideration by hr@shoreline.edu  by 4:00pm on Friday, December 23rd.

Requests will be reviewed by the new VP of DEI in early January and sponsorship recipients will be notified by mid-January.

If you have any question about the conference or sponsorship process, please feel free to reach out at any time.

Warm Regards,

Theresa Harrington

Come share your holiday greeting with campus!

Come share your holiday greeting with campus.  Media producer, Rob Berg will be set up in the Administration Office Art Gallery, Building 1000, to record individuals or groups who wish to share a short greeting for the whole campus.  Come between 1PM and 3PM this Thursday, December 15.  Wear festive clothes, bring your smiles and message of hope, solidarity, and love with your fellow staff members.  We encourage different languages and different holidays. Let’s come together to show campus our positivity. Questions, contact Rob at rberg@shoreline.edu. We’ll edit all the messages together to share next week before we all take a well-deserved break.  See you there!

Remote workers can submit their holiday messages from their home computer.  Record in Zoom, then email to Rob Berg.

Deadline, EOD Friday.
