This summer, Shoreline Community College is offering personalized music learning experiences. Through Private Music Instruction, students ages 15 and up can receive individual lessons in a wide range of instruments and voice.

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced musician looking to refine your skills, Shoreline’s accomplished faculty offer instruction in piano, voice, guitar, bass, ukulele, woodwinds, brass, strings, and percussion. Lessons are tailored to the student’s level, interests, and goals, making it one of the most flexible and supportive music programs in the area.

Each enrollment includes 5 hours of private instruction, with the option to schedule either ten 30-minute sessions or five 60-minute sessions. Lessons are scheduled directly with the instructor after registration and typically take place in Shoreline’s #800 Music Building, a dedicated space for high-quality musical learning.

The fee is $399 per 5-hour session (just $39.90 per lesson), and students can register for multiple sessions per quarter with faculty approval. Interested students should reach out to jkashiwa@shoreline.edu for availability and instructor placement.

There are different camps every week but expect to see kids in #1301 and #1401 for computer camps, Music camps & Summer band are in #800, Art camps in 2905, Theater activities in #1600 main theater, Steel Toe Teens in #2100 Automotive, Leadership camps in #1500 and Athletics camps in the gym (soccer off campus).

This summer, Shoreline Community College is offering two exciting youth soccer camp options designed for kids ages 6–14. These camps provide a fun, safe, and skill-focused environment led by school coaches, players, and even a former international soccer star.

Shoreline Men’s Soccer Youth Camp (Ages 7–12):

Hosted by the Shoreline CC Men’s Soccer Program, this five-day camp is ideal for young players who want to improve their skills while enjoying structured team play. Campers will be grouped by age and experience level, and will receive hands-on coaching from Shoreline’s men’s coaching staff and players.

Camp Details (two different times available):

• Dates: July 7–11, 2025
• Time option 1: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Fee: $200
• Time option 2: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM | Fee: $130
• Location: Twin Ponds Park, Shoreline.

What campers will learn:

• Core soccer techniques: dribbling, passing, shooting, and ball control

• Defensive and attacking strategies

• Game principles and on-field positioning

• Teamwork, discipline, and decision-making

• Daily warm-ups, small-group drills, tactical games, and scrimmages

Gordon Hill Soccer Camps (Ages 6–14):

These special four-day camps are led by Gordon Hill, a former Manchester United and England national team player. With a UEFA A License and decades of coaching experience, Hill brings top-tier instruction to young athletes right here in Shoreline. Camps are coordinated by Shoreline CC Women’s Soccer Head Coach Rory O’Connor.

Camp Details (Two Sessions Available):

• Session 1: July 15 – 18, 2025 | Location: Twin Ponds Park, Shoreline.
• Session 2: July 29 – August 1, 2025 | Location: Hillwood Park, Shoreline
• Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Have you ever dreamed of wielding a sword like a movie hero or performing a dramatic duel like the Three Musketeers? Now’s your chance to bring that energy to life — safely and on stage.

Shoreline Community College’s Continuing Education program is offering a Stage Combat & Sword Fighting class designed to teach you how to move, fight, and act with confidence and flair. Whether you’re into theater, film, cosplay, or just looking for a unique way to stay active, this one-day workshop is the perfect opportunity to combine exercise, coordination, and dramatic performance in a fun and supportive setting.

Led by instructor Lee Ann Hittenberger, the class covers stage-safe sword salutes, cuts, parries, and fight choreography. You’ll even learn a full fight sequence that will be filmed on the final day.

No prior experience is required, but a background in sports or performing arts will definitely help. All supplies, including safe theatrical swords, are provided. Just come dressed in clothes you can move in, tennis shoes, and leather gloves if possible.

Shoreline CC Continuing Education is excited to welcome wine educator Michelle Vaughters to lead the upcoming Pacific Northwest Wines Masterclass on May 29.

With over ten years of experience in the wine industry, Michelle has worked in diverse roles—from Cellar Door Hand in New Zealand to Wine Club Manager in Washington. She brings a hands-on, real-world perspective to her teaching and is passionate about making wine education approachable and enjoyable for everyone.

In this one-night class, you’ll dive into the renowned wine regions of the Pacific Northwest, including Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia. Explore how geography, climate, and terroir influence the wines, and gain insight into the history that shapes each region’s unique identity.
