Shoreline Shout-Out to Professor Leoned Gines, Librarian Lauren Bryant and Student Bokai Zhang

A Shoreline Shout-out to Bokai K Zhang, Professor Leoned Gines and Lauren Valentino Bryant for Student Engagement. Bokai K Zhang, a former Shoreline student, worked with Professor Leoned Gines on an Honors project (extra shout out to the Honors Program!). With a gentle nudge from ace librarian Lauren Valentino Bryant, they not only finished the project but published it!

You can read the literature review of cancer preventing mutations in the Journal of Molecular Evolution. This is a major contribution to a growing field, and seeing our students publishing for the greater scientific world is truly inspiring.

Congratulations on the publication, all! – Submitted Anonymously

I have appreciated all of the entertaining and constructive conversations that you have been a part of, and am indebted to you for your expertise and problem-solving as we navigated a variety of challenges returning to one ceremony after five years.

A special shoutout to our facilities team led by Kim, Aimee, and Ron, thank you SO MUCH for all of your hard work putting together the gym and overflow rooms, and for making the campus shine.

My sincerest gratitude to the Student Life team, Mashaal and Amalia, who helped to dot the “i”s and cross the “t”s, steaming gowns, calling vendors, and everything in between. This truly could not have been done without you.

Last but certainly not least, to our co-lead Yushin, for the countless hours of planning, your attention to detail, and your positivity and moral support.

Commencement will always be my favorite event of the year. The smiling faces of the graduates and their families, all of the faculty in their regalia, for me it will always represent the best of Shoreline. Thanks to everyone who made the magic happen.

Shoreline Shout-Out to Health Occupations & Nursing Division

A Shoreline Shout-out to the Health Occupations and Nursing Division.

Recently, Dean M. Burroughs retired from the College as well as FPC J. Reisland. Prof. LeAnn DeLuna and now Faculty Program Coordinator and tenure-track instructor Emily Howerter have stepped up to the call for program leadership in Nursing during a turbulent time for the College, the Division, and the discipline. The entire Health Occupations Division has overcome great adversity and continues to strive for excellence and show up for our students and each other. An inspiring group of faculty and staff with big hearts. Submitted anonymously.
