Generous donor supports Nursing Students – Yesterday, Today and in the Future

The SCC Foundation wishes to acknowledge our appreciation for the significant gifts received to the Sonia O. Kemp Endowment and Nursing Scholarship. This scholarship fund has awarded eight scholarships to deserving nursing students since it was established in 2009. Two additional scholarships were offered this spring. Due to the continued generosity of the donor, additional gifts were received recently to establish the Sonia O Kemp Endowment. Through these gifts the SCC Foundation will be able to provide assistance to SCC Nursing students for many years to come.

The SCC Foundation is grateful to all our donors for the financial support they provide our students. The generosity of our contributors helps students achieve the education they desire, leading to successful jobs and careers as they become valuable members of our community.

You’re Invited: “A Place at the Table” Screening

place at the tableDear Faculty, Students and Staff,

Join Shoreline CC Center for Service-Learning and North Urban Human Services Alliance (NUHSA) next Thursday, April 24, at 5:45 p.m. for a special screening of “A Place at the Table.”

This documentary offers an intimate glimpse into food insecurity in the United States. Huffington Post says, ” ‘A Place At The Table’ does what all important documentary films should do. It enables us to bear witness; to see, to feel something about what we’ve seen, and to be moved in the most literal sense of starting out in one place and ending up in another.”

This film is particularly relevant for people interested in food justice and social inequality.  Guests are invited to stay after the film ends for a brief discussion and refreshments. RSVP to csl@shoreline.edu reserve a parking space.

You can RSVP to tell us you’re coming at NUHSA’s facebook event page.

Hope to see you there!
